I've never been a fan of "QB rating," but it was hard to ignore the stat of the weekend: QB Luke McCown completed six passes for Jacksonville jaguars, and threw four interceptions in the Jets.
The result: a 1.8 QB rating. And has now been bench McCown. Enter rookie Blaine Gabbert, who was tabbed the starter for Sunday's game against Carolina. Yes, the rookie from Missouri to face another rookie from Auburn.
Gabbert would you have asked for a better start - it's before 26 rated defense against the pass in the league playing behind a touch pass toothless (three sacks).
It's not like Carolina enemy territory.
The Panthers are the favorite of 3.5 points, and the public is everywhere. If you have the brass to take a chance on Gabbert and Jags.
